I went through natural through most of labor during the contractions I dialated all the way until a ten and I had a nurse midwife in there with me which was amazing she rubbed my back and did some stuff to ease during the contractions like push on my knees and back. To be honest it didn't feel that bad. When I was ready to go into labor they realized my baby was upside down and then I had to have an emergency c section and forced to have the epidural. I had a contraction while they put it in so really I only remember hurting because of the contraction and the epidural it's self was not that bad it was a sharp pinch. To be honest the worst part about the epidural was the after math I had back pain for a few months after that was uncomfortable. After my c section I was walking within 2 hrs. Wasnt that bad. So either way you will be ok. There is a medicine they can give you going labor but not birth. The only down side is that it only takes the edge of and makes your baby tired after being born. I dont feel like it's really worth it
There is a drug goes in your iv lasts only 2 hours just enough to get a rest it only takes the edge off cant remember the name either
They give u a drug in ur iv and that works i had it with 3 of my kids one i had to have because i was in back labor but with this one im just doing the iv one again
Look into Hypno birthing, make an appointment with a midwife/doula and watch "The Business of Being Born" on Netflix. I felt the exact same way. Now my nerves are way down and I am not nearly as scared of birth as I was before!
Take lamaz, birth prep and hypno birthing classes theres lots of ways to manage if its what you really want
How painful was the epidural?
How painful was the epidural MommyMakwa00?
They gave me some drug for pain I can't remember the name, I believe it started with an S, it was horrible. I got high as a kite, began to uncontrollably vomit and it was for in between contraction not during. I opted for the epidural after 3 hours of that stuff, couldn't take anymore.
