pregnancy after D&C

I am 5 weeks post D&C.  My husband and I have been safe no condom, just pulls out.  I was wondering about early pregnancy symptoms and if they will be different because of the past miscarriage.  I have been extremely tired this week and have had bad burning in my chest like heartburn.  If I do test and it is positive can it be from the last pregnancy?

you should call them and have them check your levels.  i went in every two weeks for bloood work for about 1 month after my d and c.  you can tell them you want your levels checked.

Thanks for all your comments, I haven't had a period and my doctor had me come in 2 weeks after the D&C but all we did was talk.  He never did check my levels?  I guess we'll wait and see.  Thanks.

i had a d and c in october 07.  it took about 3 weeks for my hcg levels to go below 5, which is when you can ovulate again.

it then took almost 7 weeks for me to get a regular period.  that was on 11/28.  Now i am almost 6/ 12 to 7 1/2 weeks along again.  

so it does not take along to conceive again.  the major thing is to wait until you have had at least one normal period to help re-build the lining in your uterus because the d and c takes out your lining to almost nothing and to have a healthy pregnancy, you need to have a thick lining for the baby to attach itself to.

I also had a D&C 5 weeks ago (12/10), but have since had a period......So I know that my levels are back to normal......I know that everyone is different, but I did an OPK 2 weeks after the D&C just to see where I was at and it showed that I had a LH surge, which meant that I ovulated shortly after....So it is certainly possible that you could be pregnant again...But like tarajanes mentioned, if you use a HPT and get a +, it would be a good idea to get bloodwork drawn as well just to be sure...but I would assume that 5 weeks later your levels should have been back to normal.

Hi sorry for your loss.have they done any blood tests to check if your level has gone back to normal.when i mc it took 3 weeks until tests became neg.have you had your period since your mc this would be a good indicator that your levels have returned.although you can get pregnant again straight away as long as you have ovulated.so its a hard one really,if you do a test and is positive you can always ask your doc to do a blood test..best of luck.
