pregnancy hormones

Do pregnancy hormones continue to rise throught your pregnancy, or do they just get to a certain point and thats it???  Is that what people mean by numbers rising??

Yesterday I began dry-heaving a lot.  On the verge of puking but nothing comes up.  I have always had a quick gag reflux, but now it is reallt intense.  every smell makes me gas a few times in a row.  Sometimes, not even food smells... it can be grease from boat parts in my husbands shop.
Is this happening now because my levels are rising?  It wasn't hapening before.  Can I consider this as increased hormone, because the pregnancy is progressing?  If the pregnancy wasn't progressing, would I still be feeling this way?  (missed miscarriage)

Why does morning sickness eventually taper off??  because you get used to it, or is it that levels have reached their peak or declined?

I know... a lot of dumb questions.  I am 33 & feel like 16!

As said, hormones will rise until the placenta takes over. Then they pretty much taper off and stay where they are. It is possible that with a missed miscarriage to still get symptoms, and some women will have an increase in symptoms. Honestly, symptoms do not indicate a viable pregnancy or not, so try not to fret too much about them. While it can be bad if they just disappear, it can also mean nothing.

Cassandra19:  sorry I missed that "until"  I really wasn't scanning your post.  I swear I really read it!
I dry heave all the time the past 2 days.  When I brush my teeth, AFTER I eat, When I smell the dog, when I vacuum (my biggest pasttime, as I hate the feeling of chicklets under my feet... the list is endless.
Hey, I'm glad I'm actually not puking!  I was just mainly wondering if this was a good sign, because I pretty much had no symptoms until now.

i said until the placenta takes over lol. Then your bodies hormones do not to be working overtime to keep with the growing baby, the 2nd trimester is suppose to be the easiest. And if you dry heaving you should try and keep something in your stomach at all times even if its liquid. trust me i know lol..Yes like i said before your symptoms will come and go throughout the firs trimester.  I am almost 12 weeks and majority of them are gone and i know the baby is good as i hear it heart beat, just waiting till friday to see the baby

You might have Acid Reflux?. I've NEVER had Morning sickness..just dry heaving. When you get to like 3 months... they wont rise any more or something because your placenta makes it itself? Or something??? I duno...

But be lucky you aint being sick! I am! :) LOL

What do you mean "unless the placenta takes over?"

Because I'm just now getting symptoms, does it mean that things are good?  I'm still worried about miscarriage .  I had one last year.  Right now I'm about 6.5 weeks.

I do have a 5 yr old.  When I was prego with her, I thought everything I was feeling at the time was normal.  I guess I thought my baby was invincable.  Miscarriage never entered my mind back then.

you hormones rise in the first trimester until the placenta takes over and then they slow down a lot.
You will probably see a decline at around 9-10 weeks that is what mine did, i started feeling a whole lot better, not as tired, not as nauseated. But i still am breaking out like a teenager lol, and i do gag and have horrible horrible headaches, heartburn, and insomnia now lol
