When can you get pregnant

Can you get pregnant at any time during the month?  Or is is only during the time of ovulation?
My period came on the 12th and I had unprotected sex on the 19th in which he didn't come inside me but pulled out when he was ready to.

Can I get pregnant or is it all in my head?

Thanks for the advance.  I have an irregular flow that sometimes goes to 41 days. Most times it's 32.  My period came so I'm not pregnant.  I wanted to be pregnant even though the thought scared me.  I got a new job so it doesn't make sense to try to get pregnant, but hopefully by the end of the year.  My bf understands.  I told him I was nervous about my period and all he did was smile.  I think he wanted me to be pregnant too, but he said when the time is right.

Thanks again.

My guess is that you're not pregnant. Usually if you have a normal cycle, you should ovulate 2 weeks (minus a few days) after the first day of your period. So you wouldn't actually be fertil till the following week.

So unless you're wanting to get pregnant... make sure you write this stuff down. Mark on your calendar when you start your period and when when it stops. Count the number of days from one cycle to the next. Then Google a fertility calculator and it will tell you when you're most likely to get pregnant. Like i said, usually two weeks after your period starts. :)

I would say instead of taking another HPT, you get blood work done :) x

Thanks...I took another pregnancy test and it says negative.  I will wait another week or two and if my period doesn't come I'll see the doctor.

You CAN have false Negative results. if you havent had your period within a week and still have the symptoms take another test or see your GP for a Blood test as these are more acurate :)
Good Luck x

So today is the day of my period and nothing.  I left like my period was going to come since Saturday all the way up to today.  Now I'm nervous cause if it doesn't come tonight...then I might have to take a test and now I'm a little scared. I still get the tired feeling and since three days ago...there is a very bad taste in my mouth...started when I wake at mornings.

What to do....hmmn

Thanks everyone for your comments.  My period should come in the next five days or so.   But I've had the crazies few weeks. Ever since my body has been really tired and I've been fighting to keep my eyes opened.  I'm actually at work and just woke up after taking a nap.  I've felt really sleepy and I heard that that can be a sign of pregnancy.  I don't believe I'm pregnant, but I will keep you inform as to if my period came.

The quick answer is yes, there is a slight possibility of pregnancy. Natural birth control (charting cycles) and the pull out method are NOT dependable forms of preventing pregnancy. Even when your cycle is known, there is a possibility of them changing from month to month, opening a window for pregnancy. If you are trying to prevent pregnancy, a reliable form of birth control is need like the pill or a condom. If you are trying to get pregnant, charting your cycle and having sex on and around the days of ovulation gives you the best chance.

How long are your cycles?  If you have the average 28 day cycle your chances are slim.  If there shorter it's possible.  I usually ovulate between day 10 and 12, so if you had my shorter cycle then it would be possible.

Also, Pulling out doesn't eliminate the risk of getting pregnant, you still can get pre-sperm inside you that could get you pregnant.

It would be unlikely for you to get pregnant at that time. Normally you ovulate 14 days previous to the beginning of your period. The average is a 28 day cycle; so the best time to get pregnant is day 14. If your cycles are 26 days, the best time is day 12. If your cycle is 30 days, the best time is day 16, etc..
Sperm can live for about 3-5 days inside you, but the further away from ovulation day, the chances are less and less likely that you will get pregnant. Even if you have sex frequently around the time you ovulate, there is only a 25% chance of getting pregnant.

You can only get pregnant around the time that you ovulate.  An egg, once released, will only survive for approximately 24, maybe 48 hours.  Sperm have been known to survive 5 days or so.  So the typical fertile window is a couple days prior to ovulation to about a day AFTER ovulation.  Now with that said, it is possible for a women to ovulate at anytime during her cycle.  If you have a normal 28 day cycle then you would normally ovulate about 14 days after you first start your period.  But as I said this can very.

To answer your question, IF by some chance you happened to ovulate close to the 19th there is a very small possibility you could be pregnant, however, it's unlikely.
