Im an idiot....

I went for my gestaional diabetes test yesterday, left work early to go to the lab and do it because I knew I'd need to spend an hour and a bit there and the place closed at 5pm.

A co-worker brought in treats and I had 3 Lindor chocolates at about 12:30pm....I drank the dextrose at 3pm and they drew my blood at 4pm.  I could just KICK myself now because I'm afraid my little indulgence will have skewed my results....argh!!

I guess I'll hear something back in the next week if my sugar was indeed too high.  And I go for my next OB appointment on the 26th...

I hope you pass your 1hr girl! I hadda do the 3 hour test when I was pregnant with my daughter and that was a NIGHTMARE!!! I HATED IT!!!

Good thing I like to crochett cuz I got half my baby blanket I was making for Ivy done while I was there!! lmao

Thankfully I passed both times I got tested with this pregnancy.
I had a 1 hr as they're supposed to do and I fasted like I said in my other reply, but about a month or so before that one I had a surprise one. They made me drink that nasty buttjuice and sit for an hour and I had eaten breakfast a few hours before my apt!
I still passed it I remember them telling me 104. I think that was what my BS was at that time. So yeah, you may get lucky!!

You can't fake the tests and can't mess them up. They need to be able to see how your body responds to sugar. So........ I really wouldn't worry about it!

I actually got into a fender bender when I was pregnant with my son and they made me go to the hospital to get checked out. They gave me something to eat and a sprite to drink.. they then drew my blood for that test since I was on my way to the hospital to get it done when I got into the little accident. I failed it and my doctor said he was gonna send me for the three hour test and I refused... I told him I would do the 1 hour one over again but that is it... so he let me and they I passed it. there was NO WAY i was sitting for 3 damn hours. By the way I Like the title of your post..." I'm an Idiot" haha It made me laugh

I had a chocolate bar about an hour before my test and had a coke on the drive to the hospital so my little man would be active for the ultrasound and still passed. (I wasn't booked for the glucose test, just had my OB appt and he sent me over to the lab to have it done) So you may be just fine!

Ugh I did that too. They sent me home with a list of things I couldn't have, and starch was on that list.
Well ofcoarse my dumba$$ didn't know at the time that corn was a starch, and pigged out on corn on the cob that my grams had broughten home from the market!!! LOL
Needless to say I failed my 1 hr and hadda go to the 3 hr. I passed that one by the skin of my teeth. I was suspected to have GD with my daughter but went without prenatal care most of my pregnancy with her because Texas Medicaid are the biggest pains in my a$$ EVER!!! And we didn't have a perminent home at the time either.

With this pregnancy it did be better to just fast after midnight before my test and I passed my 1hr.

But ofcoarse my life is out to get me and I was labeled with mild hypertention.
It never ends for me. It really never does. lol
Just one thing after the other. JUST when I think I'm fine, I gatta deal with something else. lol

I had icecream the night before my 9am test and I failed it. Then at the 3 hour test the nurse said it was from the sweets I had the night before. So if you do fail it don't worry it's probably a false alarm. Good luck.

I just had my gestational diabetes checked last week ... I don't think you messed your results up ... I called and asked an OB/GYN nurse if I should fast and she told me that you don't have to starve for the one hour test, just don't eat or drink anything after you drink the sugar drink. I ate breakfast that morning and my test was fine. good luck!!
