primary care provider?

Recently got my papers for cal optima. Yay ! Anyways, I have to pick a primary care provider. Now my question is will the primary care provider be the one that will be helping me give birth or will I keep going with the same dr ?

A PCP is just a regular doctor that you would see for non pregnancy related things.

Your primary care doctor may have to refer you to your ob/gyn .. like when I found out I was pregnant I had to go to my primary care Dr to confirm pregnancy and then get a referral from him to see my ob/gyn for prenatal care .. but I dnt have cal optima so idk if that's what they want you to do or not

Oh yeah. Your primary care doctor will see you when your sick and for anything pretty much. I've seen my primary care doctor during my pregnancy but wasn't anything baby related.

I've never heard of a primary care doctor doing prenatal checks. You should look into a obgyn
