no it wont survive without treatment. i could have a great aunt right now but because she was born before doctors knew very much about the rh factor, she died 3 days after she was born. my mother almost died from the rh factor but because my great grandmother noticed the signs from when her baby died, she threw a fit and made the doctors check in on it, causing them to treat my mother for it, and she lived obviously :o) bottom line, always always always treat for the rh factor.
The mother is supposed to get shots during the pregnancy to prevent that.... Why risk it? But most babies survive and do well now a days. It causes anemia baby could end up needing a blood transfusion in worst case scenario.
I am rh- and I have just gotten the rohgan shots every pregnancy and both my children had a little jaundice.
It is very important for the newborns to be treated after birth, especially if there was no intervention during pregnancy.
