sandwich meat?

My doctor told me to not eat sandwich meat unless its heated. I slipped up and ate a sandwich here and there. What are the effects of it? I've herd from other woman they ate sandwhiches all the time when they were pregnant and never had a problem.

Actually from what my nutritionist told me its more about keeping the baby from getting listeria, it is one of the few bacterias that travel directly through the placenta.

I'm not really all that worried about it. It was just a concern and I wanted to hear other people's opinions on it. Thank you

Yeah I don't often eat it either but when I do I don't heat it up either and I also like getting the fresh meat from the deli.

Put in terms you understand 1600 in u.s. get listeria a year. 1 in 7 of those are pregnant. That's astromically small compared to other things that means out of the millions plus women who get pregnant each year, 200+ will get listeria, with allllll the other complications in pregnancy that can happen is listeria really the one thing to worry about? no. If your paranoid about every little thing, then go ahead and worry, I wouldnt.

I love sandwiches. So I buy the freshly cut meat from the counter and watch them cut it. I don't heat it up but I've never had a problem.  But it's rare that I'll eat it. It's like I have to be super hungry and have nothing else in the house

It just carries a risk of you contracting a bacteria based illness called listeria.
