soft serve icecream

Just wondering if anyone else has heard or been told not to eat soft serve ice cream while pregnant? And does anyone know why?

Really when ya think about it any food machine, cooking utensil or restaurant kitchen could have this same problem so why do they just say ice cream?

My doctor told me soft serve ice cream is a "stay away from" food. She said what was already mentioned about dirty machines and bacteria they may carry.

Yeah they warn you against it where I am because we have a lot of cases of listeria here.

Awwh thanks ladies, yeah I've had a fair few hahah this certain friend is really weird about what she eats, doesn't eat salad or cheese or salami pretty much nothing hahah an I just eat whatever I feel like eating at the time hahaha

It's because they don't clean there machines properly and you can get listeara infection from eating soft serves , but I was eating them a lot of them when I wa first was pregnant then got told how bad it is . I have been checked for listeara but I don't have it

I was told not to eat soft serve.. when I first found out I was expecting, I was given a list and that was on the danger list as well as thickshakes from takeaway places. I think it's because its supposed to have raw eggs and also has something to do with dirty machines? I enquired about it after getting transferred to a new hospital and was told it was fine as long as it was from somewhere that cleaned their machines daily.. my partner is a first assistant at McDonald's and I use to be as well at the same store so we both knew the machines are well kept so I've had soft serve from there occasionally. I think its fine :) my friend who has two baby's also said she had soft serve with his two baby's.

Someone told me i can't have salsa because I'm pregnant...they said it causes calic. I then went on to tell them what causes calic and how to stop it. Then i told them I'll eat what i want and I already have a kid so it's not like my first rodeo.

Yeah I've Never heard it either but a friend of mine said she hasn't eaten it bcoz of baby and I thought wtf? Hahaha
