weight loss

Ok. Im 17 weeks and ive maintained my pre prepregnancy weight of 174. Im 5'7. I havent gaoned havent lost. My husband gets angry bc he thinks im just not eating. This iz #2 for me. And with my 1at i was 140 to start n ended at 195. I gained waaaaayyyy too much weight.  Whatvi weigh now should havevbeen what i weighed when i delivered my 1st. I feel likevim at accomfortable weihht and see nothing wrong with maintaining until my bby starts to grow n2 pounds.  Is that not good logic??? If i gain hardly any weight ia that really gonna b an issue. Its not like im small. My doc said i should gain half a pound a wek. His fam n my fam are down my throat about it. But dang. I eat!!! Should i stick with my gut on this

I've lost 11# from week 3-7. Lost the first ten from week 3-4 I was in a work weight loss contest and didn't expect this little one. Since then I've been eating healthier, take prenatals, drink water and exercise by walking/ stationary bike. I'm going for quality over quantity.

You don't need any extra calories the first trimester so you shouldn't gain weight then. The second you need 300 extra calories a day. That's a glass of milk, piece of bread and a cheese stick. That's not a lot extra you need so since the baby is using your extra calories once again you won't gain much. Since you have extra weight you don't need to gain more than 15# they have me at 11# needed since I'm overweight/obese. I realize I'm barely considered obese. :(

My sister had hyper emesis and weighed less at delivery then she did in the beginning. She weighed 25# less and her baby is a sweet 5year old now.

Listen to your gut. Eat healthy, stay hydrated, exercise and take prenatals and your baby will be fine. If the doctor says your baby is growing well then ignore them. If its not growing well then you'll need to gain more. Listen to your doctor first. I've found while a lot of family intends well, they are normally wrong.

My family is trying to tell me I have to gain 40#+ or my baby will be deformed. This is NOT true. Well, mother in law is telling me that.

Doctors are trained for this, not family. :)

I weighed 180 when I started, lost 8 lbs, and by the end of first trimester I was 172. My doctor is fine with it and my baby is healthy and SUPER active. I would say you're fine as Long as you feel comfortable with your weight gain. Now, I wasn't trying to lose weight, I had severe morning sickness (still do). But my baby was taking everything he needed and we are both still healthy, he more so than I. Be sure to take your prenatals and get a lot of water and get healthy calories and you'll be fine! Your guy instinct is normally pretty good -- mama knows best ;)

I'm going through this as well! I'm 21 weeks and haven't gained a pound. My husband is always on me about eating , but I eat all the time lol. I went in for my appt Wednesday and asked the doc (in front of my hubby) if it was alright that I haven't gained anything. He said as long as the baby is growing properly, it's not an issue :)
