Well subway also sells cooked meat such as the chicken breast nd the meatball sandwhichs
I always get the tuna. So I was fine. :)
My doctor hasn't told me not to either I just read it online lol darn Google
17% was to high for me. Every mother has to make that choice for herself.
According to the Center of Disease Control (CDC), an estimated 1,700 persons become seriously ill each year in the United States and among these, 260 will die. Although the CDC states that pregnant women are 20 times more likely to become infected than non-pregnant healthy adults, the number of cases of listeriosis in pregnant women is about 17%.
The only person who said I couldn't have cold meat was the WIC person. My doctor nor dietician (because I have gestational diabetes) said I couldn't have it. I think they make it out to be more than it is.
I'm curious, how small of a chance that it's a risk to your baby is everyone comfortable with? 1%? 5%? Over a sandwich? We are pregnant for such a finite amount of time it seems strange to me that people play chicken with their child's health over easily avoidable things.
I get them untoasted. The only reason you're "not supposed to eat them" is because of the small chance of listeria bacreria just like there's a small chance if you getting you mercury when eating fish.
I didn't know this. Good thing I love my subs toasted.
I wrk at subway in im so tired of eating subway now because workers eat free nd i eat a subway sandwhich just about everyday but you can have them heat your meat up in the microwave if you dont want your whole sandwich toasted
I have always ate cold meat sandwiches in both my pregnancies. At subway though i like my subs toasted. But i take cold lunch meat sandwiches to school to eat for lunch almost everyday.
You can eat subway without toasting just ask them to heat your meat and cheese separate from the bread.
I eat it lol I hate toasted too
Yeah my first trimester i was addicted to ham sandwhiches lol now its turkey but i do try to limit it
Lol okay I think I will. I know it's a small chance I just feel guilty.
I was addicted in my first trimester and I hate toasting things also. Baby is doing just fine and I am almost in my third trimester. The risk of eating unheated lunch meats is very very low. I would say go for it and enjoy! I think you would honestly have to eat nothing but cold cuts to get listeria.
I have. I cant not eat lunchmeat
