taking asprin on second pregnancy after miscarrage.

Hi i had a miscarrage in march 11 weeks and the midwife mentioned taking asprin to me then when I was pregnant but decided against giving it to me as my bmi was only 1 over the level they work on. I am now 6 weeks pregnant again and I asked her about it again but she said I could take it if I wanted but because I'm healthy in everyother way she said she didn't see the need. Now I'm a bit confused. Shall I take it or not?? She said they would normally give it to people who have at least 3 miscarrages but I don't want to risk it happening again. Any advice would be fab. X

My high risk doctor suggested it and I asked OB doctor and she said its my choice it was recommended no more than a baby aspirin due to high blood pressure. Helps blood flow and prevent oreeclamosia later on

Doctor's do prescribe women aspirin during pregnancy I had a miscarriage at 20 weeks and a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks and when I found out I was pregnant at 3 weeks I got prescribed progesterone suppositories and baby aspirin to take every day I've has a aspirin everyday since 3 weeks I'm currently 38 weeks 4 days so do research on it but if your midwife is saying it's not necessary for you to take it then don't

I don't know why your midwife told you aspirin was okay because both my primary doctor and OBGYN have said that aspirin is a HUGE no no during pregnancy. Like the other people said only tylenol.

Thankyou I haven't started to take it. She said it was child's asprin 75mg but you've made my mind up i won't go near it. She said it was a blood thinner and I thought it didn't sound like it would help. So glad pages like this exist!! Thankyou so much for your help.

Don't! Ask a pharmacist about asprin, i know that some medications are safe to take while pregnant.

I'd say don't. One miscarriage does not mean you'll have another just listen to your doc and eat healthy and you're fine.
