Pleaseeeee! can someone help me!!!

so yday I had an ultra sound and got told I'm having a very healthy fidgety little boy!! however they told me I have a low lying placenta, but it completely covers my cervix not just partially, completely. they said theres a one in ten chance it wont move. but i was just wondering if anyone could give me any information, or someone whos been through this could help. its just the consultant did tell me everythinn but I was very emotional at this point and didn't take everything in. also she mentioned 'fresh blood' being a problem, what does she mean by that?

thanks for anyone that can help!

That's good, better to be safe than sorry. Yeah, the bleeding shouldn't affect or harm him in any way and as you progress you could have more. As long as it's not super heavy it should be fine. Are they doing more ultrasounds in a few weeks to check on the location?

I'm 20 weeks and 4 days. they are totally unconcerned about the bleeding as its not affecting him in any way. I started bleeding Thursday but it stops and starts again. I am I'm not doing anything I'm not supposednto do, i wont even leave the house atm.

Placenta previa can still move. I had a low lying placenta with my daughter, and it just means the placenta is close to the cervix but does not touch or cover it at all. The low are similar but are not the same. I would definitely follow your doctors orders exactly as they said - you don't want any vaginal penetration with anything, nor an orgasm. An orgasm is technically a contraction, so you can't do foreplay or anything like that either. When did you have bleeding, and how far along are you?

im not allowed sex or to do any exercise or any lifting, I have already had bleeding which is what lead them to find my placenta. what's the difference between a low lying placenta and a previa?? this is my first child, so just want everything to be fine. can it still move up then if its a placenta previa? :/

That's not a low lying placenta, that would be complete placenta previa. The main concern is that if it does not move you won't be able to have a natural birth and instead will need a c-section. She mentioned fresh blood because it's possible you will have bright red bleeding, likely without pain - it's also possible it can be heavy bleeding. Did they give you any restrictions at all, such as bed rest, pelvic rest or no sex at all?

I had low placenta with my first. it had moved by 34weeks....its not a prob...only thing is if it doesn't move you'll be scheduled for a section...which is fine too. at least you'll know nearer the date. not sure bout the blood thing tough sorry. 90% of placentas move as you expand...nothing to worry bout. hope this helps.
