types of ultrasounds

My insurance just approved the prenatal care and all that fun stuff. I scheduled mt first appointment and I'll be about 12 weeks when I go. The office I'm going to does vaginal ultrasounds unless you are 13 weeks. I've heard that they are really bad and can cause you to miscarry and they should only be done if something is wrong. I don't want to refuse it because I'm excited to see my baby but at the same time I'm terrified they are bad for you. I looked online and k seen both sides of the story and it didn't ease my mind... anyone able to help me? I just want to know if they are really bad for you or if it's a myth.

I went into my first ultrasound thinking I was 12 weeks so she tried to do it abdominally & she knew right away I was not that far along because she couldn't find him so she did it vaginally, and the detail was so good! I even got a 3D one. I was 8 weeks 6 days. And I'm 20+5 now :)

When I was 8 weeks I got my first and it was a vaginal one.. I got one last week at 15 weeks non scheduled because I thought it would be nice to see what my baby looks like before my scheduled one at 20 weeks
And I found a free place
I would not worry about all that stuff that is rare risks they are given all the time plus if it was a high risk they wouldn't do them any kind of ultrasound has risks

I understand your concern but that's nothing to be worried about girl! Seriously

I'm pretty sure that's a myth. If they could harm the baby or you I really don't think doctors would use them. I've never had one because of how small I am. My doctors told me you only get them if you are a heavier person because a normal ultrasound can't see the baby as good.
