Diagnosed with Blighted Ovum at 5-6 weeks

I went to the DR for an exam after finding out I was pregnant with a home pregnancy test. I had brown blood (not bright red), so she took my HCG levels and urine test.

A couple days later she called and said my HCG levels are higher than she thought, so I might be further along in my pregnancy, so she wanted to schedule for an U/S....

I went to the U/S and there is a gestational sak, but no fetal pole and no yolk sak... She diagnosed me with what is called a Blighted Ovum...  and rescheduled my for an U/S for this coming Monday...

If I am really only 5 weeks, TOO EARLY EVEN FOR AN U/S, and way too early to even see anything, right?

At this point, I really don't know what to do... Anything will help...

Thank you so much. And off the top of my head, I can't even remember what she told me my HCG Levels were (trying to remember if she even told me), I was so emotional from being told WHILE DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR! Need all the prayers and thoughts my fiance and I can receive right now. Thank you!

I had a blighted ovum last nov but my hcg levels just didnt do as they should, so 5 wks a yolk sack wont be visable, not until around 5wk 3days, depending on what your hcg levels were, there is a huge range in whats considered normal for 5 wks its anything from 2,580-6,530, so I would try not to worry to much at this point and see what your next u/s shows

Right, 5 weeks is super early, what were your hcg levels though? If they're above 2,000 you should be able to see something, even then, I think it's a bit too early to diagnose a blighted ovum, if it's not, you'll know on monday, something will have changed if it's a healthy pregnancy, I'll keep you in my thoughts hun, good luck!!!
