Timing

Hi, I was raped about 4 weeks ago. He didn't use a condom. I took plan B the next day... My period was due the next week but it ended up being 1 week late. I know plan B can do that. Now I am feeling really nasious and tired all the time. I was wondering if it's normal to have a period if fertilization happens so soon before the expected period? I am mostly scared to buy a HPT because I don't think I would handle a positive test very well. I know everyone is different, I'm hoping someone can answer. Thanks

I hope everything works out for you. Im sorry this happened to you. There is a member on here that also got pregnant from a rape. Maybe she will read this posting and give you some advice. I cannot give you advice especially on something like this. I hope it all works out for you during this difficult time.

That's awful. I hope you reported him and got an understanding medical or law enforcement professional to help you.

The last time I took Plan B, it made me very, very sick for about two weeks. Serious nausea, headaches, and I gained almost a cup size! It wasn't the first time I'd had it either. ( I figured out it was a couple days after I'd ovulated. Wonder if that makes any difference?) I really did feel sick as a dog and think I might be pregnant, and I didn't get it as fast as you did. Turns out I wasn't, but my body didn't take all those extra hormones too happily. It also took two full months for my cycle to get back to normal.

So... Plan B can make you feel like that. Don't be scared, more than likely it worked for you. But if you need some extra reassurance, go ahead and take that HPT. Better yet, go to a clinic, public health nurse or crisis pregnancy center and take one where a counselor will be present to work with you no matter what answer you get.
