Its mandatory and very necessary and shouldnt  be able to have a choice. Your baby can be at serious risk if you end up having GD. I had to take it twice bc my son is kind of large for 7 months which can be a red flag for GD. Its typically done at 28 weeks. Its not even thar bad like ppl make it out to be. You just drink the glucola which tastes like juice and then an hour later your blood ia drawn, simple. If you pass it great if not youve gotta take a 3 hour glucose test. If you fail after that, then you've gotta diet

It's mandatory. They want to see if you have gestational diabetes. I'm 24 weeks and have to take it asap. I only get 5 mins to drink it and than have to wait an hour to get my blood drawn.

Exactly how I feel. I'm 22 weeks and I've had 3 done, because my doctor is obnoxious like that. Apparently if you have hips and boobs, you automatically have gestational diabetes in his opinion. But I've passed all 3..even though he's testing me AGAIN in 2 more weeks. If he tries to test me again after that, I'm finding me one of those midwives.

yeah, they're mandatory. And I was told by a nurse in my OB's clinic that if I deny it, then they can deny medical service to me. So,...

I was never given a choice so I would say they are mandatory they did my 1 hour at 26 weeks and my two hour at 28 weeks (I failed both)
