Is it safe to swim in Chlorinated water?

Is it safe to swim in Chlorinated water? From what I have read some articles say yes, some say no it can cause birth defects or further complications. Is there a certain stage in pregnancy that is unsafe maybe?

I dont think its dangerous some fitness centers have classes for pregnant women. I swam til the day before I had my last baby.
