Oh I will keep everyone updated :)
Emi keep me updated I'm just curious. There definitely didn't look like there was a penis just three distinct lines.
I'm the one that made the post there are 3 lines and what looks like a penis so they said boy but they are rechecking Wednesday since baby was laying in a weird position but yes normally 3 lines means girl :)
I got told a boy at 19+6 and then went and bought loads of blue stuff and baby boys clothes and we've decided on the name Caius. Then 5 days ago when I booked my 3D scan I got this sudden rush of "omg what if he is a she" and then dug out all my receipts just incase. But no, the sonographer confirmed at the scan that he is definitely a he and that he wasn't shy in letting us know :)
I had an ultrasound at 20 weeks 5 days and the u/t said it was definitely a girl, showed me the three lines and everything she checked 6 times lol...2 weeks later I had to go to the hospital for a stomach virus, and they told me i was having a boy....and then showed me a penis.... the tech explained to me that sometimes the umbilical cord goes under the babies butt hold the penis down causing the three lines. so its possible to be wrong at any given time, but happens a lot less nowadays
Thanks! I don't get another ultrasound until 36 weeks and I've already bought so much baby girl stuff. I don't even want yo think about getting a surprise further down the road!
With newer technology its harder to be wrong but not impossible. I was told a girl a 19w5d and again had it confirmed at 25w5d. Both times I was told a girl and saw 3 lines.
I Heard Sometimes The Umbilical Cord Is Mistaken As A Penis But If Nothing Is There At all Then It's More Than Likely A Girl. I Was Concerned Too Then I Google Image Search Ultrasound Pics Too See The Difference And What I Should Be Looking For Now I'm Sure She's A Girl Lol. Congrats!!!
They will do the ultrasound to check the gender. A lot of times will do another ultrasound later on to check on baby. But will also check the gender again.
If it was a boy you'd see a willy inbetween his legs. Obviously they can get it wrong but i think its very distinctive and hard to miss.
The sonographer at my ultrasound said it's 95% correct, if you get it confirmed at a later ultrasound that 95% becomes 99.75% and both ultrasounds for me said boy and I have a picture of his dinky haha
If you've been told its a girl, its probably a girl.
