i had fried green tomato sandwhiches....mmmmm mmmmm good. they were so super good. i love fresh veggies....nothing better!
I gotta laugh at that one cause it sounds like my hubby. He doesn't like his mom's steak and LOVES mine.
He used to think her charred up burned things from the grill were good food... till I showed him what a REAL steak tastes like!
(he still likes her turkey soup and stuff.. but most of my cooking he likes better! YAY)
Looks like PB&J is a hit today. The more you hear about it the more you want one...maybe I will go home and eat a couple of them because I believe my mom is making pork chops...which I do not like...(I like them, just not hers...lol thats sad)
for lunch I had a can of spaghettis o's and meatballs, I know nutritious....lol...wasnt what I wanted but mama was hungry! I have had a pb&j sandwhich since lunch
a piece of fruit, a chocolate chip cookie and a PB and J sandwich.
Thanks babydreams!
I like the pita idea..I used to LOVE pita sandiwches...I think I will do that sometime soon. I will look into the chicken. I had a chicken salad sandwich last week some time and it kind of grossed me out. My mom made the mixture...She uses the canned stuff thats the consistancy of tuna..then mixes it with miracle whip, relish, and some purple onion. Man...after a couple of bites it like ugh...I hate miracle whip! lol I like chunked chicken salad with mayo and some onion and celery...salt and pepper..I don't need the relish! And she is too afraid of using ground turkey...I am open to the idea all the time. I remember a few years ago I was in a culinary club in high school. And we would have lunch meetings. My teacher brought in a big try of baked pasta that her husband made for our meeting the night before. It was almost like lasagna with ground turkey. It was SO good. I wish I would have gotten the recipe!
I like to pack my lunch too, and I get so sick of microwave meals. Here's some ideas...
Try making wraps or pitas... they are good when you're sick of regular sandwiches. You can get yummy wraps & pita bread at the store and put in grilled chicken (leftover from dinner the night before, or you can buy it already grilled, sliced, and refridgerated. Costco sells huge bags of it you can keep frozen & thaw when needed)... with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, whatever else you like. You can also make chicken salad w/grilled chicken chopped up (or use canned chicken) w/a bit of mayo, chopped celery and/or pickle, and some pepper. Yum! Also a great lunch is cold pizza, you can make a whole one the night before. Personally, i LOVE leftovers, so I make big dinners for me and DH and we have leftovers for lunch the next day (enchiladas, casseroles, chimichangas, pasta w/homemade marinara, etc...). If you like hamburgers you can cook up a bunch of patties - I love turkey burgers - and refridgerate them. Pack one up with a bun and some condiments (seperately, of course), microwave the patty and assemble a burger for lunch! And lastly... I like to make pasta salad and add in beans (kidney & garbanzo) and sometimes chopped up chicken, ham, or turkey. You can buy a box of pasta salad and cook according to directions then add in those goodies, or just buy a bag of multi-colored rotini pasta, cook it up (be sure to rinse w/cold water after cooking) and drizzle vinegrette (or olive oil w/balsamic or red wine vinegar) over top w/salt and pepper & add in the other stuff. The best part of the pasta salad lunch is that it needs no heating up. Ok now I'm officially hungry....... ;)
I had pork steaks and green bananas. Im hungry now!
I had left-over breakfast sausage and pancakes, girls had fish sticks with ketchup and potato bread. usually lunch is whatever we can find or throw together.
My neighbor made me baked chicken with vegetable rice and corn. It was so awesome...I would love to have a pb and j, but now I have an allergy to peanuts.
oh ohk lol i was gonna say i didnt see that you had said you were sorry :) i love pb&j all the time :) especially if the bread is cold :) yummy
I ate mac and cheese with the kids... With hot sauce... I usually eat a salad but I didn't have any salad fixings left and didn't want to go to the store...
No I am not...but I remember when I was...I liked PB&J lol
Im having beef dumpling soup and a salad :D I smile just thinking about it lol waiting for my relief to get here so I can go eat
Hmm I haven't eaten anything today.. it's 2:10 so I guess I should. I'm thinking left over rotisserie (sp?) chicken... maybe make a sandwhich out of it? Idk..But I'm pretty hungry. lol
That sounds kind of good but I bring that a lot too! I am in the mood for something savory! Good choice though, especially being preggo!
I had a peanut butter and jelly and a half ( I was still hungry!)
