I did my shower at 30 weeks. I wanted enough time to get anything I still needed. I wanted to be prepared incase I went into labor early.
Anniebrooke that is very true i am sure i will get bored during the day and want something to do.
Alicia, that's too bad, but remember that you won't mind going out with the baby, and might even be looking for things to do when the baby comes. So it's not as bad as all that to have a few things to still get. Just be sure you have the dipes, the wipes, the bottles, the bottle brush, the swaddle and the tee shirts. :)
logi, 30 weeks sounds good.
My shower isn't going to be until I am 36 weeks which stinks but i guess January when I wanted it wasn't good for my sisters who are helping plan it. I am pretty upset that it is going to be so late because it doesn't give me much time to finish up last minute shopping and what not before the baby comes.
Well, I don't think there's a right or wrong time to have one, honestly. We have a huge family and everyone and their mother wanted to have a shower for us...first grandchild on my and DH's side. So, we ended up having 6 showers. The first one was at 16 weeks - technically not a full-on shower, but they had a cake for us and a few presents at DH's family's July 4th celebration. The other 5 were thrown by my mom, step-mom, mother-in-law, work people, and my friends (since I lived away from either of our home towns at the time) and they ranged from 24 weeks to 32 weeks or so.
I'd say 30 weeks is good because you won't be so tired that you can't finish up last minute shopping and nursery preparations.
