Yes, it sounds a lot like PCOS, my G.P refered me to a Gynae, and then an endocrinologist. I had tons of test done and they said the only way I could conceive was with IVF. And after giving me a script for Metformin, I was on those for a long time. But then I got pregnant. Unbeknownst to me. I thought pcos was playing up again. I had the worse kind. Huge bumps on my face, no AF, hairs all over. Thank God for God, I'm almost 36 weeks gone now.
If you get started quickly, you will be fine. Wishing you all the best. SSBD to you. xx
You can try a fertility specialist, your regular OB or an endocrinology reproductive specialist. If you usually have to get a referral to see a dr than you will need one for this. You can try calling your insurance company to see who is in network and to see what your reproductive insurance benefits are. Some insurance companies cover certain tests and procedures but not others but it's good to know up front so you know what to expect $ wise.
I started with my OB to see why I wasn't conceiving but they said I'm young and have time so I changed OB's then they didn't do any testing just gave me clomid and sent me on my way well that didn't work so they sent me to a fertility specialist who said do more clomid but no testing. So then I went to a reproductive endocrinology specialist and he did a ton of testing but no treatment so I got frustrated and my cousin recommended a OB that was able to help her get pregnant with PCOS so I went and saw him and he did tests said yes it's PCOS and then started treatment. I did clomid 50mg cd3-7 then ultrasounds to check egg maturity but I still wasn't ovulating on my own. So then they did ovadriel injections with the clomid too to get me to ovulate but I still didn't get pregnant and finally 50mg clomid cd3-7 ovadriel injection cd15 and IUI cd16 and cd17 and that cycle was the winning combo and after 34 months of ttc and one miscarriage I am 22 weeks pregnant. If you have any questions please send me a message I would be happy to answer any questions you have about the process. I know how overwhelming it can be.
Good luck!
thnx much do i need to get a referral from my doc. i am just so lost right now i just dont know where to start to try and get answers that i need and want
A fertility specialist would be your best option. That's who ended up correctly diagnosing me with PCOS, after my OBGYN said I didn't have it. I'm 28 weeks pregnant now, after 4 IUIs and 1 IVF :)
find out if i have it or not to my obgyn or my general doc. any suggestions would be nice as i am running out of hope thnx in advance
