Hi,
The result for PSA after a radical prostatectomy should be undetectable. Verify if the procedure done was a radical not surgery only to relieve obstruction. Also, try to find out if there was any node involvement, as this may increase the chances of having residual cancer.
Discuss your options with your doctor. Some patients are offered radiation if it is suspected that a local disease represents the residual PSA. Others undergo a complete re-evaluation and may be offered medications.
Hi conf,
Has your doctor done another followup PSA? Generally, they seem to test at 3 months post surgery and are looking for a near zero result. I'm not sure how the result might vary since you were tested soon after surgery. When is your next follow up PSA?
Hope you're doing well and the recovering isn't too bad.
