Is purity the answer?

I am so stressed right now.. I been in a 10 yr relationship.. ended that.. ended another 2 year relationship.. im so fed up with men. I am depressed and have many issues with myself. I am going to a purity ceremony with friends at church.. I havent had any sexual intercourse for 2 months more or less.. and lol to be honest I am a very sexual person ..but I dont even masturbate anymore. Is this weird is it healthy .. or is it ungodly to do so. I been super ambarrased to ask anyone this..is giving myself to God the way?

Well what do u think about when you masturbate or do u just stare into space. I think that's where the lust issue comes into play and I don't think religious people should be doing that.

I actually don't know if that's pretty healthy. I think you screw with yourself there mentally. But hey that's what most of my guy friends say... I know everyone's done it but I don't think it's ideal.

Usually I take a cold shower and divert my attention to something constructive.

I agree.  I think the answer to that depends on who you are asking.  I actually think it is great that you are taking a little break from men to figure things out so that next time you get into a relationship it will maybe be the lasting one you are looking for.  I will say that sometimes sex gets in the way when we are trying to figure ourselves out or a new relationship out.  But whether masturbation is a sin, that is personal.  I personally don't think it is a sin and keeps a lot of people out of trouble-----  if you know what I mean.

Not in my eyes.  Masturbation is completely normal.  I suppose to people who are extreme with their religion they would think it was.  But I'm not one of those people.

no one here can answer that for you...the answer is inside of yourself. physically,there's nothing WRONG with masturbating..but it's entirely up to you whether you want to abstain for spiritual reasons. You should seek counsel with a priest of your religion who may be able to help you deal with these issues....

but they're entirely your choice and you need to dig deep inside to find the answers...and pray to see if God has anything to say about it to you. :)
