What happened to me, and what can I do to aid my recovery

It started a few days ago (about 4 or 5 days, was too focused on what was happening to keep accurate track of time), my sinuses suddenly drained in my sleep, causing me to wake up coughing, feeling like some of the mucous made it into my windpipe. The drainage, and sensation, continued for about 2 or 3 days, during which I got little sleep. When the drainage started to subside, it felt like my lungs couldn't fill to full capacity, there was no pain or weezing, it was just like there wasn't enough room to take a full deep breath. A heating pad, steam from a shower, and tussin dm and cf, would help temporairaly, the medicine helping the longest, lasting for 4 to 5 hours, somtimes longer. This morning, around 3 am(I was having touble sleeping), the breathing issue let up suddenly (it was gone in minuts), followed by a duration that the air I breathed in felt very cold (the A/C was on, so I shut it off because of that, though it only helped a little), this mostly passed after about 4 hours. I'm fairly certain that I'm not fully over it, there is an odd sensation in my chest still, though it might just be a remenant of the prior condition, or might be related to the anxiaty attack I had this morning (I've been under a lot of stress lately, this just pushed me over into the attack, though I was able to remain relativly calm, I still showed symptoms of an anxiaty attack, which have mostly let up at this point). I'm currently in a position where I can't see a doctor unless it's an absolute emergency, though I've been working on changing that (and that might change soon, hopfully), so I'm trying to figure out what happend to me, and what I can do about it for the remainder of my recovery (thankfully I rarely get sick and usualy recover quickly, but I don't plan on counting on that). Also the odd feeling in my chest started to fade as I was finishing the previous line, though still present
