EXCESSIVE YAWNING

I AM SUFFERING FROM EXCESSIVE YAWNING FOR ALMOST 11 YEARS NOW. I FEEL LIKE YAWNING ALL THE TIME, WHEN I GET A FULL YAWN I AM THE HAPPIEST MAN ON EARTH BUT WHEN I DON'T IT MAKES ME FEEL UNCONFORTABLE. I KEEP TRYING UNTIL I GET A FULL YAWN TO RELAX.
THE FIRST TWO YEARS IT WAS NOT ALL THE TIME, I WAS FEELING IT FOR LIKE TWO OR THREE WEEKS THEN IT WAS GONE. IT HIT ME HARD IN MY 3RD YEARS, I WAS FEELING IT ALL THE TIME BUT REALLY HARD. I WAS FEELING LIKE I WAS DYING OR LOOSING MY MIND IF I DON'T GET A FULL YAWN. FROM MY FIFTH YEAR UNTIL TODAY IT IS GETTING BETTER BUT I STILL HAVE THE FEELING TO YAWN. SOMETIMES I GET A FULL YAWN AND WHEN I DON'T I HAVE TO KEEP TRYING UNTIL I GET A FULL YAWN TO RELAX. BELIEVE ME IT IS ANNOYING AND IRRITATING I WILL BE HAPPY IF I CAN GET THE HELP FROM HERE.

THANKS

Do this everyday and you will start feel better gradually.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Anulom Vilom –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30  minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Hi Almoah

I think this is essentially the same problem as having difficulty getting a deep breath - see separate thread - we spend a lot of time fighting to yawn because that is one of the things that gives us the deep breath we need and I think that's what you are yearning for as well.  We've all been told it comes down to anxiety etc but why don't you try the proactive method I developed by accident the other day - I don't see why the approach won't also work for yawning - see my post in the same thread - it might not work but if it does it should probably convince you that it can be controlled / beaten.  Let us know how you get on
