Get tested! You probably need a c-pap. My brother sleeps with one and it works.
You will get used to it. Have you been under a lot of stress lately. That is when it
ususally happens. Only had that happen twice in my lifetime. Got rid of the stress
and I got rid of the problem. Hope it helps a bit. Good luck.
Hi,
I have this experience about 7 times a year, last night was the latest. I woke up quickly and with a feeling of impending death as I could not breathe at all. I throw open the window and became to 'fight for my life'. I began to get tiny tiny breaths and was making a horrific noise like a wild animal trying to breath, bit by bit it improved but still a long fight it seems to breath, took about a minute or so become I was breathing, but it was longer before normal breathing returned.
I had sleep apnoea test 2 or 3 three years ago and was given a cpap mask which blew air in my mouth, but I kept waking up and throwing the thing off me as it was just as bad waking up with a 20 mph gust of wind in your gob. I was told I had a borderline case and did not require one but would help to set a machine if I bought one myself.
It is frightening for my partner to watch, although I wonder if her smoking 50 a day may contribute?
The last Gp appointment resulted in a prescription for Gaviston. But I dont need to have it everyday do I? I cannot predict an attack.
