Cold Sore??

I'm 19, I have mild acne, and I'm sexually active.  I have noticed that I sometimes get acne around my mouth.  It is not painful and usually doesn't scab over or ooze unless i pick at it excessively.  It never lasts long.  I'll pop it and it usually goes away.  Sometimes it will fill back up, but it is mostly solid and not a water liquid.
Recently though, my lips were very chapped, an occurrence I'm quite used to in the winter.  I never really use chapstick on a regular basis so I just ignored it.  Until, I noticed a very tiny dark dot.  It is so small that you can only see it up close

There's no easy way over the 'net to tell if this is oral herpes, acne or even a bacterial infection that needs antibiotics for. I recommend since this is new for you you follow up with your doctor to find out what is going on.

This spot does not hurt at all beyond the normal feeling of chapped lips.  I have been using chapstick religiously now and it is still there. It has been about 4 days. I just noticed today that I have another small dark spot on the opposite side of the first on my lower lip.  This one does not hurt either.  I have been stressing way too much over this and I need some kind of advice before I ask my mom to take me to the doctor.  I have researched cold sores and now about the risks and truth that it is a strain of herpes.  I am only worried for my family and the girl I'm dating.  I don't want to give them anything.  Please help, I am very desperate.
