How often should I get checked?

If I have protected sex but with people who's STI status I don't know- how often should I be having sexual health checks?

Also- which STIs should I be aware of?

Hi normally without symptoms std tests are not recommended but would be if you have a regular partner and that would be every time you have sex with someone else.
Protected sex is a risk for herpes, syphilis and HPV
