Is a TP Syphilis test at 7 weeks accurate?

Hi everyone I'm abit confused here...

Anyway I just wanted to check how accurate a TP syphilis test is at 7 weeks. It will be my 12th week tomorrow and I was wondering if I should repeat.

I did see a doctor this week because I did have a sore throat and was feeling sick, there are some brown patches on my body too.

The closest thing I had to a Chancre was two discolored white circular patches on my penis shaft I noticed a week ago, they have since disparead and are barley visible. But a week ago they had dry skin in them.

The Doctor prescribed Amoxcillin for 5 days (2g a day).

My main questions is this
1. Should I retest?
2. Will the amoxcillin take care of any infection?

Ps my encounter was unprotected oral.

Amox will not cure any STD, but unprotected oral is lower risk than unprotected vaginal or anal sex.

It doesn't sound like you have syphilis, and a 7 week test is considered very accurate, but if you want to test again at 12 weeks for peace of mind, go ahead and do that. I'd expect it to be negative.

Thank you so much for answering so quickly.

Last question, does it matter if I use an at home TP test, I also used it at the 7th week as it was very cost effective.

Thank you kindly.
I can't comment on that as I don't know what kind of test you are using, where you are getting it from, etc.

If you are in the US, and using an online service, most of those tests are reliable, but I can't comment on any other services.
I currently live in South Africa and I used th Famka rapid test mam (sorry to assume your pronouns)

I'm not familiar with that brand, but they have a LOT of other tests they offer, so it seems to be a reputable company. It says 99% accuracy, so I'd say they're okay.
Sorry to bother you again mam, but I just realized I tested for antibodies at 7 weeks, not TP direct. Does this change anything?
Nope, it's fine. If you had a positive antibody test, they probably would have done a confirmatory TP test. That's very common.
