Cervicitis

I'm a 28yr old female. I have only ever had one sexual partner who I've been with for 8yrs. I have had a few paps done previously and all were normal. I just had a pap today and was told that I have cervicitis and that it may have been caused by an STD. I've been prescribed Flagystatin for 10 days. I read that STDs can cause cervicitis. Does this mean my boyfriend cheated? Does it mean he cheated recently? All I know is that he's the only guy I have slept with and when we met he said he was clean and had only had one previous partner. My paps have all been negative before. The last one I had was about 2 or 3 yrs ago.

I hope your provider tested you since they suspected and std.  Or does that make too much sense?  The way people do things these days, it probably does.  But yes, you would be doing yourself a world of good getting tested to make sure.

It can be from a STD like gonorrhea, chlymida or Trich...doesn meant that it is from one of those. Only way to know it to test for those STD's before you have any treatment. If you test positive bf will have to test also. And if he is positive then someone probably cheated.

I recommend both you and bf test because if it is a STD that is left untreated in him then most likely he will give it back to you.
