Chlamydia

My g/f has recently been diagnosed with chlamydia, I am currently waiting for my results, but we have both taken the treatment just in case.

We have been together for 6 months, but she only started exhibiting symptoms over the last few weeks.  I haven't had any other sexual partners over the last 6 months, but I'm now suspicious of her.

The way I see it, is there's 3 possibilities, and if my results come back negative, that rules out number 2.

1.     Could she of contracted the disease before we were together and the symptoms have only just come-about, triggered by something else?
2.     Could I of had it from a previous partner, not exhibited any symptoms myself and have passed it on to her only after.
3.     Has she just been sleeping around?

Can anyone help me out with some advise, are these possibilities even possible?

another thing, i play football (soccer) and around the time of this starting, i forgot my towel and needed a shower in the changing rooms, once my friend (has numerous partners) used his towel, i borrowed it and got dry with it, ive explained this to my Girlfriend, but im unsure this could cause an STI,

ive been with my girlfriend for around a year and a half and she has been complaining of abdominal pains, feeling under the weather and spots of blood from her vagina,
she has had problems with her reproductive parts before and six months ago she went in to have an operation on her womb to see the problem, they found nothing wrong and the pains went away, now, around two weeks ago, the pain came back and around the same time i felt some soreness around the tip of my penis. she went to the doctors yesterday to get a swab,
if been totally faithful, and i really hope she has and i actually think she has. could this be an STI???
another fact to consider is that she had Chlamydia previously with another partner long before me, could this problem come back????
im desperate for answers, please help!
thanks jam

I have to agree with Tommy, he's one of the sharpest posters on this board, and he's right.  The % of males with symptoms of gonorrhea and chlamydia is simply higher than it is with females.  This is not in dispute, but a well proven fact through many studies.

1.  Maybe, but 6 months is a while.  But yes things like menstruation can cause STD symptoms to worsen in women.  Though she's had that several times since you've been together.

2.  Sure, it's possible.

3.  Also possible.

I'd wait for your results.  If yours were negative, then the odds of it being from you are very very small.  If you were positive, it will be harder to say.  I'd say it's more likely the infection is recent, but not definite, and it all comes down to how you'd like to handle the situation.

One thing about a girls vagina is it tells everything. If the smallest thing is wrong in there, we have a discharge. Even after receiving oral sex from a guy, all the slyvia going into our vagina will cause a discharge for a day or two. Our vaginia is made to fight any foreign object that comes in, so if a woman tells you she didn't have any indication she was carrying a disease, she's lying or just didn't pay attention and didn't know that the leakage coming from her vagina is a warning something is not right in there.

I disagree with CantLose.  Guys are more likely to know if they had chlamydia or gonorrhea, because they're more likely to have symptoms than girls.  In girls, chlamydia and gonorrhea can go undetected b/c of the lack of symptoms.  I don't blame you for questioning her.

Just a little advice from experience. Guys usually don't know they have an STD untill they spread it to a female. For some reasons, Females get symptoms quickly before guys. It is possible you spread it to her and vice versa. After both of you are tested and treated just remember to have safe sex.
