Exposure to STD's by using a used pocket ***** ?

Hi every1,

I recently bought a pocket ***** from an online store, the packaging was a bit worn out from the edges so i thougt it would have happened while stocking and shipping of the product, when i opened the package it had a 1cm black thread like thing stuck on the pocket ***** stroker, i just removed it & cleaned then i used the stroker,

After using the stroker for 5 min, what i found was my own genital hair got stuck on it & now i am 100% sure that the 1cm black thread like thing which i removed from the stroker was someones hair,

Its been 2 days now since i used it and I am being paranoid & have sleepless nights just thinking that i am exposed to any sort of STD,

and i'm just thinking constantly that its not safe for me to live around my family members bcoz i think i would transmit them too.

Plz help what should i do

hi @grobick2000,
Since you are the only person responding to my query, I can't thank you enough.
but i have one last question that i am anxious to know the answer for,

What if someone intentionally tried to spread STD's by using sex toys as a mode of transmission since toys also hold a chance to carry STD germs & viruses.

secondly, i used the toy on friday and i kind of overdid like 5 times the ***** stroker was little tight and felt pain during the act, since then it am having a little burning sensation on the head of my penis plus sometimes when i stretch the foreskin below white translucent droplet comes out from my penis, should i be worried.
Since Friday, I am staying away from my family members thinking that i will spread any sort of STDisesase to them if i have one.

I would be highly obliged if you respond.
Thanks & Regards

You may ask as many questions as you like, and I would be glad to share any knowledge I have if my answers are helpful.
But I have no intention in playing games of tin-foil conspiracy. So my answer is: such thing as intentional infecting people with STDs via packaged sex toy only exists in your imagination (and there is nothing wrong or shameful about it: your mind just can't cope with guilt and fear, so it tries to make up plausible explanations for something unreal).
Your symptoms are not related to any STD.
You should get back to normal life with your family.
@grobick2000, Thank you for your time and help,  I'll try to get these thoughts out of my anxious mind.
These toys are made with high quality controls and no one is out there trying to intentionally infect people with STDs.

Whatever you saw was not a pubic hair, and as grobick has said, STDs do not live long outside their human host. It would certainly not survive packaging, transport, etc.

hi @auntiejessi & @grobick2000,

today when i checked the polybag in which the toy was packed there was white powder type material scattered inside the polybag,
but that white refreshening material was not there on and inside the pocket ***** stroker,
now i am 100% sure that the toy which i received via the online store was either a returned product from some customer and the online retailer shipped that returned  product to me
or other situation might be that the online  retailer or their employees themselves tampered the product and are spreading STDisseases.
I am thinking to sue that online retailer.

For facts i am a 27 year old virgin never had sex, it was the first time i tried something and i totally regret that decision.

My only concern which is making me paranoia and sleep deprived is- whether i have been exposed to any STD's or if exposed will it spread to others in my family.
Its been 4 days now, all i am doing is just google stuff related to my issue or seek help on online portals.
After doing all these google search the fact which i most commonly found in every other site is that STD's can live on sex toys and even if someones dried up semen or blood was there on the stroker, transmission of STD's is possible.
This situation is more affecting my mental health since i have not discussed about this whole situation with my family or friends, felt suicidal too but cope up with that,
After seeing the redness on my penile glan, I feel like i lost my purity.

Did you buy this from a reputable retailer? Is it a name brand device? Was the poly bag sealed?

This is your anxiety or paranoia or something - there are laws against this.

Purity is a construct, and is in your mind, not on your body. If you feel dirty for having used a sex toy, that's something you need to work out with a counselor or pastor or something. It's absolutely normal and healthy to masturbate.

We have already explained to you that there is no risk here. That's all we can do.
Hi @auntiejessi, i am not much sure about the reputation of the retailer. The polybag was not sealed.
Was the packaging sealed overall? Was it direct from the retailer or was it purchased from a friend? Google the name of the website and reviews. For example, if you bought it off Amazon, google Amazon reviews. Or Google the brand name and reviews, like if you were thinking of getting a Netflix subscription, you might Google Netflix reviews.

My guess is this is a reputable place and a reputable device, and you have some significant anxiety.
@auntiejessi & @grobick2000

plz plz plz  advice should i get tested for std coz i am having burning sensation and warmness on both of my palms plus my tongue is getting dried even after drinking litres of water.
None of these are STD symptoms. They are, however, anxiety symptoms. Please see your doctor about your anxiety.

You had absolutely NO RISK for an STD. You can't make there be one. I don't know why using a toy has upset you so much, but there is no risk here. None.
Oh and no, you shouldn't test because you had no risk.
@auntiejessi  & @grobick2000

I may sound like a total idiot by asking the same question again & again, However i would request you to answer one last query of mine.

What are the symptoms of STD & STI ?

Since i am having the below symptoms:
1. Warmness, burning sensation in both of my palms.
2. Bad breath, Tongue is unusual white and is getting dried even after drinking litre's of water.
3. Erectile Dysfunction. (not having my morning erections, i even watched porn today but didn't have an erection)
4. Rashes appear on my body but the redness gets lighten after some hours.

As per you previous reply and some searches done by me on google, i found that anxiety disorder & STD STIs have some symptoms in common and the symptoms which i am having are common for both.

Hence, i would like to know that i should be concerned about what Anxiety Disorder or STD STI (considering the scenario in which a used pocket ***** stroker was delivered to me). ?
Symptom
5. Little burning sensation on the top of the penis after urination. (I used shampoo as lube the day when i used the stroker)

First and foremost, you should stop thinking about STDs and get back to a normal life. Your case carries no risk for STD but being paranoid and sleepless really hurts.
You never had a real exposure.
Even if someone used the toy before (highly unlikely), and even if there really was a human pubic hair in it (even less likely), you are 100% safe from any STDs since STD germs do not survive outside human body and cannot possibly infect anyone.

hi @grobick2000, thank you for your response, you are the first person who now knows my situation and responded to it, I really appreciate that.
I want to believe that whatever you said about STD germs do not survive outside human body is TRUE...
but after making google search about can std germs live on toys?  almost all search results showed yes they can and it can be transmitted,
this is the main reason which made me think otherwise and brought me here on this portal so that i can find my answer.

I really appreciate that you gave your view on it, but i am still not sure.. and don't know what to do.
Well, it is your life and it is your choice.
You may either keep googling scary things on Internet and stay paranoid, ruining your health, or snap out of it and live a happy life.
Here on this site we try to assess practical, real risks.
Yes, in theory STD germs may live on toys which are shared at a sex party (not shipped in a box, that is ridiculous). They may also live in pools, baths, on toilet seats, towels, massage tables etc. But STD doctors never see patients who were extremely unlucky to get STDs that way. Because there is simple science behind it: STD germs quickly lose their infectivity outside human body.
That is why every real case of STD reveals a history of direct unprotected sexual contact.
Getting back to your "what to do" question - try to understand that you never had any risk of STD and move on. If you feel unable to, find some help for anxiety issues.
