STD risk if no symptoms for 5 weeks?

Hi guys, thanks for this great forum! It has relieved me from a great amount of anxiety.

5 weeks ago I had protected sex with an escort, she also gave me unprotected oral and I also gave her unprotected oral. She had no visible sores or anything, and it seems like she takes real good care of herself.

I did a rapid Biosure HIV antibody test(finger prick) at the 5 week mark, and it was negative. I know my encounter was not a HIV risk but I just wanted to be sure.

Regarding any other STD’s, in the last 5 weeks I showed no physical symptoms of any STD. Is it possible that I can still show symptoms? Or am I in the clear??

Your time and efforts are highly valued
Regards

Oral sex exposes you to gonorrhea, syphilis and herpes, but the risk is really low.

You can test for gonorrhea 3 weeks after the encounter, for syphilis after 6 weeks (and if you get it negative, it would be interesting t re-test 3 months after the exposure, as there are people that take longer to show a positive result). For herpes, you can test 3 months after the encounter.

All the best.
Dragon.

Thank you for your swift response!

In other words, even in the absence of symptoms I may still have one of these std’s??
Sometimes, STDs don't show any symptoms at all, that's the reason why is important to test after an encounter with someone we don't know.
Thanks I appreciate your answers!
