Syphilis

So, I haven't had any sexual contact since October of '09. While showering a I see a small bump on my penis. I pay it no mind but like a week later, it's like an outbreak. I ignore it (stupidly) hoping it will go away only for it to get worse. when I look online, I see that (according to the pictures) I have Syphilis. no question about it. It's like a txtbook pic. Ashamed, I do not go to the ER and this situation lasts for over a month, constantly getting worse. I did some research online and found that 2grams of Azithromycin. So I get the meds and I took them tonight. Should that kick it? btw- I developed 3 open sores. they've healed now ( almost except one) but if you could give some advice, I'd appreciate it. THANKS!

Should syphilis take this long to manifest itself?

You need to go and be seen - no way around it. You've ignored the symptoms far too long as it is.   Self diagnosing is never a good idea and what you've described doesn't really sound like syphilis either.

yes a rash on the arms can be due to the azithromycin.

I am not medically qualified to "argue" with Vance. I was supplying more information. There's a difference. Know what you're talking about before u go butting in.

In stead of argueing the point here with Vance....go get tested. If positive you need treatment. Azithromycin is NOT the recommended treatment for syphilis..please go now for exam.

With syphilis you get 1 sore or canker usually at 21 days after infection but up to 90 days.
My advice is to see a Dr and possibly test for syphilis, but 3 sores is not going to be syphilis.
