Genital sore, no visible symptoms

No visible lesions/blisters or sores on penis, no particular inflammation, apart from a mild reddening of tip, but there has been a mild burning sensation/irritation/discomfort, a tad prickly feeling for almost 2 weeks or more- on and off(a bit sporadic).

No Sexual contact recently apart from an odd genital massage a few months ago. treated for fungal infection with cream and antibiotics, but mild symptoms persist. what could it possibly be? It has been mild, but very nagging, consulted 2 doctors already -derms.

the genital irritation has subsided...but am having back ache/joint ache..general malaise..numbness of skin..in general...which is also worrisome...not sure if it was the long dosage of medicines or something else.

my doc constantly persisted its a form of male yeast infection but 3 weeks seems too long

what is further workup?

if you still have symptoms, be seen for further work up.

if the urine dip was negative, no reason to think uti.

sure! what are the symptoms of prostate infection? I am assuming my doc would have considered the possibility..is it a form of uti?

and yes, can you pl. share if the antibiotics and anti fungal medicines can contribute to side effects...have been having muscle ache/joint pain/back ache  and a bit of general malaise...more so when was under dosage.

a urine dip stick is fine for basic urine testing.

you've had antibiotics which can make yeast linger longer too.

give it another week and if symptoms are still there, return to be seen again for additional testing and make sure they check your prostate too then.

meanwhile put the lil guy away - only look at him for aiming purposes!!!

As Grace said did they inspect your prostate by manually inserting a finger into your anus? I'm thinking more and more that I have prostatitis from my symptoms.

Just to clarify..if you have encountered people with similar symptoms linger for sufficient time. Can yeast infection and uti happen together? I did consult with my doc 2-3 times...

Any other possibilities?

Thanks

urine dipstick yes...but not urine test...can ite be uti like cystisis? I cant speculate..but the doctors should know better...have consulted thrice...but from your knowledge do fungal infections sometimes take long to heal? this has been 3 weeks...but on and off...quite mild.

I had a dosage of ciprofloxacin and flagyl. the weird part or maybe the good part is no lesions/blisters/sores visible at all. It is more prickly as if its caused by friction.

your symptoms don't sound like genital herpes going on.

it can take awhile for fungal infections to clear - sometimes weeks even. did you have any urine testing done? did they manually inspect your prostate?

No I knew it wasn't thrush as I'd tried anti thrush cream and that didn't work. Do you keep checking yourself a lot and trying different creams?

oh good to hear that im not alone...my irritation has beennagging, its less of pain more psychological distress...and is weird as I am not even sexually active.

Did the docs diagnose yours as thrush by visual examination?

I'm in a similar position to yourself so would be interested in any advice. I've been tested for STDs and all came back negative so thinking this condition has no relation to STDs at all. Tried thrush cream and the doc prescribed Fucidin cream but that didn't really help. Think I'm going to just try leaving it alone and see if it disappears on its own. I think mine came about as I was worried that I'd caught an STD and was constantly checking and squeezing the tip of my penis so I'm thinking that's what's brought it on. I think I need to just leave it alone but that's harder said than done as when it comes to your manhood you want immediate results.
