Gonorrhea and Chlamydia - non sexual transmission

I have been diagnosed with gonorrhea and chlamydia, but have been in a monogamous relationship with my wife. She says she does not have any infection. My question is whether I could have gotten this infections through a non-sexual way. I am really puzzled as to where they came from. The only instance I can think of was on a plane where my penis touched toilet (non toilet seat) some two weeks ago. Please help.

Health professionals get it wrong too. They thought it was impossible for HPV years ago too but now know that's incorrect. There are many contageous disease which we dom't know how it originates.

When nothing else is wrong with your marriage and you're confronted with this, then you understand. You don't walk away from a happy marriage where you've had no other reason to be suspicious. You may think we're ignorant but after both going through hell and being so confused, angry, scared, betrayed and everything else under the sun- we had to put it behind us.

There simply must be another answer.

It's not possible to get a STD without sex.

The same thing has just happened in my marriage. We were both absolutely devastated and both had to question each other for obvious reasons. Other than this we've hadno reason to doubt each other and are completely happy.

We've decided to be strong and have faith in each other. We are gob smacked to have to deal with this after being monogamous for 5 and a half years. I never would have believed it was possible to not cheat and get an STD before this.

Nope does not happen any way except from sexual contact with a person who has it.  And if you were tested because of symptoms, then someone has been outside of the marriage sexually.
