HSV, IgM I/II Combination = 1.68

I had a panel of std tests and got some confusing results...similar to the other poster, however my results for one of the test is high.
HSV, IgM I/II Combination = 1.68 HIGH
HSV I/II IgG Rflx 1-2 Type Sp < 0.9 NEGATIVE

The doctor didn't seem to have much of an answer....he appeared to be equally confused why the individual tests showed up negative, but the combo test was high.

In reading some of your replies....it sounds as if the 'IgM' thing is meaningless....but the HIGH results have to account for something....right?

This discussion is related to hsv IgM/IgG results very high and confusing. Help!!!!.

And when you get tested again - if you need to - ask for a type specific.  If it comes back positive on the combo test, you won't know which type you have.

Actually, 1.68 isn't all that high when the cut off is 1.10.

And it doesn't matter anyway - the IgM is a pointless test for herpes, so disregard it.  If there is a possibility that you have a recent exposure, then test again in a few months.
