Molluscum--Shaving Vs. Waxing?

Hello,
I've had several molluscum contagiosum bumps on/near my genital/butt area for the past 3-4 months. My gyno confirmed it and has been removing them every 2-3 weeks since I first went in. I finally feel that they are all gone and this whole molluscum nightmare has come to an end...or is close to its end. However, before I engage in sexual activity and begin to wear tight pants etc. again, I want to be ABSOLUTELY sure that it's all gone (no bumps left), so I'm going to see my gyno (hopefully) one last time to check for molluscum. (I know their incubation period is a week or two so I don't want to have sex and have more bumps just show up later, risking the spread to my boyfriend or other parts of my body.) For when I see my gyno, I want to be hair-free so that my gyno will be able to clearly see everything without hair follicles covering up anything. However, if there is a bump or two that I can't see because of my pubic hair as of now, I'm afraid that shaving or waxing would spread it and thus prolong the molluscum. I'm pretty sure I don't see any bumps but I don't trust myself since I can't clearly see the whole area because I'm not shaved at the moment.

What do you think is safer and less likely to spread the molluscum (if there are any hidden bumps)? Shaving or a full wax?

Your response is very appreciated. Thank you.

shaving with molluscum is never a good idea. If you trim the hair down low with scissors , be sure to run them through the dishwasher.

did you toss the razor you used to shave previously?

Thank you for the quick response!

I understand your response--it does sound like the safest thing to do. However, a month ago my gyno told me to shave and come back so that he could see better. When I returned after shaving, he found 8 more bumps. So i am concerned that the hair really does cover up some of the bumps, making it hard for even gynos to find. Do you think leaving the hair there is still the best option?

Also, sorry if I posted this question twice. This site is very new to me and I wasn't sure if I posted it in the correct place. Thanks again.

I wouldn't do anything. leave the hair there. your gyn will look closely and carefully even with pubic hair there. if you shave or wax, you risk spreading molluscum to new areas if you still have it.
