STI .. I need help

Hello everyone,

Thank you for having such platform.

On the 31st January, I had a condom sex with a stranger. After the event, I noticed there was a tear at the top of the condom. I had to wash off.
Around 21 days after, I experienced mild fever, mild throat pain, joint and body pains and abdominal pains.

I had to do a rapid test on 21 days negative.
I did a ELISA 4th (HIV 1/2 )generation test on 27 days. I got the result on the 38 days negative. Is this test valid. sample contacted on 27th day and test carried out after 11 days
I did another rapid test on 42 days it is negative.

I read VDRL, HCV, Chlamydia after 40 days .. All negative

I still feel muscle spasms, pains on the tip of my fingers and toes, under my feet, joint pains. pains on my lower abdomen and itchy skin  .. No rash

My question is is this result conclusive?

I have been nervous.

Thank you

You had no risk for HIV. The only risks for HIV transmission are unprotected vaginal or anal sex or sharing IV drug needles.  Air and saliva inactivate the virus.  You also tested which you did not need to do.  Those tests are conclusive and you do not have HIV.

As long as the head of your penis was covered, you had no risk for HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia, NGU, trich, hpe B or mycoplasma.

Hep C is very rarely sexually transmitted - it's only found in blood - and when it is, it's usually by unprotected anal sex.

Your HIV test is conclusive because you had no risk, as are all your other tests, either because of no risk or the time has passed.

No STD gives you pain in your finger tips or toes (or anywhere on your hands and feet), itchy skin, etc. Some can cause joint pain, but that's rare and you've tested negative. If you didn't give oral sex, you wouldn't have throat pain.

Could this be anxiety or stress? You really can let this go now.

Auntiejessi, thank you ma for your response. She gave me unprotected oral sex before condom vaginal sex.      I have been anxiety since I started having these symptoms. saw some tiny bit of rash on only one side of my penis
What kind of rash was it? When did you get it (how long after the encounter) and how long did it last?

just tiny rash. same color of my skin. looked closely with a torch. no opening. just scared and worried. I am not sure when it came. it still there..
That doesn't fit with any kind of STD rash. The only STD that causes a rash is syphilis, and that would be covering a lot of your body.

You could test again for syphilis now. If this were a syphilis rash - it isn't - you'd test positive by now. Most test positive by 6 weeks.
I was in the hospital today. Met the doctor. He said I should rest and gave me some prescription (drugs for Malaria and others) however I have been feeling some sharp, quick, random pain in my penis and around the region. I will do urine swab, gono, chlamdyia and syphilis this week .
Did he test you for malaria? What medications did he give you? Some can alter STD testing.
He gave me Malaria drug (P-alaXIN ts), cenox (ciproFLOXACIN ), B-complex, Para1000 and sleeping pills.   I have taken all but malaria drug and cenox. Will go back to the hospital tomorrow
Are you going to the hospital for STD testing? I don't know what the antimalaria drugs will do, but the cipro could affect the testing. However, if he thinks you have malaria, it's far more important to treat that than get STD tested, since the changes of you having an STD is so very small. That testing can wait until after you treat the malaria.

I treat malaria a month ago. Ran a test last week. I had malaria + in the result. The doctor said there is a need to retreat malaria ( he said the joint pains and body aches are malaria symptoms). I will start the malaria treatment then maybe do a test after the treatment. So should I take the cipro?
Yes, take the cipro if that's for malaria. It won't cure any STD. If he thinks you have a urinary tract infection, take the cipro. If you aren't sure why you are taking it, find out.
I should say that cipro may cure gonorrhea, but there is a lot of resistance to cipro now, and the standard treatment for it in most places is rocephin. It may not be where you are.

If you are in Africa (based solely on malaria rates), there is a lot of resistance to cipro there. It is on the rise in South America and Asia, too.
I am in Nigeria, Africa so Malaria is a big issue here. Some doctor claims malaria can kill adults in minutes and it could leads to severe issues. I will start my malaria drugs today. Could the malaria cause those symptoms?
We have an Infectious Disease forum where they might be able to help - https://www.medhelp.org/forums/Infectious-Diseases/show/338

This is an STD forum, and they are not the best to answer your best sources to answer your malaria symptoms.

Good luck!!
Emily sorry about that. my concern is the risk of STD not malaria
I've already answered that question about your STD risk. You have a very low risk of STD. I'd be way more concerned about malaria.

If you have questions about your malaria symptoms, ask in the Infectious Disease community.
I had another rapid test at 48 day, result is negative.  Hope it remains negative.   I still don't feel well. I even scared to sleep with my wife.
I'm assuming you don't feel well because you have malaria.

You already know you don't have HIV - your previous tests are negative. You need to stop testing for that. HIV wouldn't give you the symptoms you have anyway.
One more question on STIs, can Hep C curable?
auntie, I am done with the malaria treatment. still don't feel well ... abdominal pains, tingling on my toes and fingers,
Hep C isn't really considered an STD. It's rarely transmitted sexually, as it's only transmitted by blood. When it is transmitted sexually, it's usually by unprotected anal sex.

There is no STD that causes abdominal pains and tingling on your toes and fingers.

There are lots of causes of tingling - https://www.medicinenet.com/tingling_in_hands_and_feet/symptoms.htm

There are even more causes of abdominal pain, depending on where it hurts. You need to work with your doctor to find out what's going on. It's not an STD.
Hello everyone, thank you for your support thus far, I met my doctor yesterday. We did malaria, typhiod, Urine test and Full blood count. All tests were ok. I also noticed my wbc is 5700 within a range of 4000 - 11000 (my last check about 21 days, it was 6200). He said I'm ok. He asked me to exercise more and should let go of the past. But I'm still worried. Been having nightmares and slight body pains still.
I don't know what else to say to you to convince you that you do not have an STD.

If you are having nightmares, then you need to talk to a counselor. That's psychological. Your slight body pains are probably anxiety. Your symptoms are NOT related to an STD. You had no risk for HIV. You have tested negative for everything you might have had a risk for.

I can't help you with the guilt you feel for being with someone other than your wife. A therapist can, though.

Your doctor has said you are fine. I have said you do not have an STD. If you can't let go of this, see a therapist.

Best of luck to you.
We're sorry that you are so anxious, but your STD questions have been fully answered, and your negative tests results are conclusive.  There is nothing further for our members to say about this event.
