Lips might tingle - that doesn't happen to everyone, and it can happen for reasons other than herpes.

Don't go buying stuff for something you might not have.  OTC stuff really only works to shorten an outbreak by about half a day, so its not worth the money you'll spend on it.

The best thing you can do is go on about your regular activities, and if you get a sore, see your doctor within 24-28 hours to have it cultured.

Will my lip start itching in one area if I have possible herpes, if so does this mean I just have HSV-1?  If it starts to itch how soon before I start to see a sore and if this is my first sore how bad (ugly) and how long will it be there for, also give me a good OTC drug that would help prevent the sore from looking so bad.  Thanks

Sore throat is not a common symptom of herpes, and you can get herpes when the other person doesn't have a sore.

Have you ever been tested for herpes?  From kissing, all you'll get is hsv1, and you could well already have that - well over half do.

Ask your doctor for a type specific IgG blood test.

For your sore throat, if it persists longer than a few days, or you get any sores, etc., see your doctor.
