STD Risk?? Help

Dear Medical Specialists,

I apologise in advance if you think I’m overreacting but would appreciate your expert opinions.

Two months ago I was best man at a Batchelor party. Myself and the Stag were stripped off and tied back to back by two strippers, they sprayed cream into our mouths, down our chest and penis area. The strippers licked the cream from our bodies and performed fellatio until the cream was removed from our penis – 15/20 seconds maximum. Like most parties of this nature, we were both fuelled with alcohol and this was only a joke nothing more – no sexual gain intended on my part and the same with my Friend who is now married. Just the usual Batchelor party behaviour.

Since this experience I have felt some guilt and started to google STD’s risks related to this matter. I was completely shocked to find out that urethritis/NSU and Gonorrhea can be contracted through this! I nearly fell off my chair with complete disappointment! I am married and would never cheat on my wife. Since googling this, I have found myself checking my penis every day in fear that I’ve contracted something, no symptoms so far but every time I have the slightest difference in urination, pre cum or experience urine drips I get paranoid thinking it’s something else. I have had Urethritis before but pretty sure it wasn’t through sex and I’ve never had Gonorrhoea. I have since been tested for Gonorrhoea, Chlamydia, Syphilis and Herpes, all negative.

I have two question that can hopefully put my mind at ease:

1. If I did contract an STD my wife would never believe this story and neither would I if she told me this. I haven’t been tested for Urethritis so unsure what to do?

2. I have since done some research and found out to my surprise that doxycycline treats most of these infections, I have been treated with this on and off for five years due to ongoing skin problems. At the time of this exposure I was being treated with a two weeks course of tetracycline due to a skin condition. I had sex with my wife three days this Batchelor party experience, would the Tetracycline have prevented contraction of these STD?

I apologise if you think I’m over reacting but I would not want this experience to jeopardise my happy relationship.

Can you please advise.

Thank You!

I have two questions on here, howardH answered my other question a few months back and advised I seek some counselling to help get over this mistake.

I have since done that and speaking to a counsellor has really helped - the situation I was in caused this mistake, it wasnt intentional. I have showed my counsellor my two questions on medhelp and he has advised that I ask any remaining questions and then close my medhelp account so I can move on with my life.

I have one question and then I can close my account:

My counsellor is obviously not a medical practitioner but said that if my wife had gonorrhoea I would have been re-infected by her over the last 10 months, is that true? (this is something I do not understand and will be my final question to medhelp).

We have been having sex for 10 months since this happened and I have had numerous negative tests for gonorrhoea.

Can you please help this last and final time.

No you do not need to test for syphilis.

Hi Vance,

I have not been on the site for a while but got a little paranoid again over developing what looks to be dry skin patch / small red mark on my penis shaft.

I have realised that my test for syphilis was after 3 weeks not 6 weeks so the test wouldn't have been accurate.

Do I need testing again for Syphilis to be sure I didn't get it?

How rare is this contracted by exposures like mine? 1 in 1,000,000 ETC.

Hi Vance, the tablets I was taking are called lymecycline, apologies for the mix up and they are part of the doxycycline family - so I believe.

In your experience, are my tests for gonorrhoea conclusive even when I was taking an antibiotic? or do I need to retake for a more accurate result. I want to ensure my wife is 100% safe and would appreciate your thoughts on this?

I don't have an exact number but it would be something like that.

Possibly

Hi vance, sorry to repeat myself but just to clarify one of your answers for piece of mind.

1. So my chances of contracting ngu / gonorhea after a 20 second exposure would be close 1 in 1000,000. Is that what you meant?

2. I was also taking doxycycline at the time of exposure, would this have prevented any infections from taking hold if the odds went against me?

Thank you Vance! You have made my day, 1 in 1,000,000 indicates a near miracle!

Without making judgements to any one else's situations on here, I am a genuine innocent person here! Everyone makes mistake but no sexual gain was desired out of this experience - all a stupid joke in front of friends and other onlookers. My wife might see the funny side to this experience but I don't want to tell her in case it has an adverse effect.

Apparently, Tetracycline / Doxycycline are part of the same antibiotic and very popular in the UK when in comes to treating bacteria infections. That's why I was wondering if it would prevent any infection from taking hold? in chance that she had an infection.

Yes I am sure. It takes some time for any bacteria to work in, you would be talking about 1-1,000,000 chance from 20 seconds.

Not sure about the medication.

Thanks for the reply Vance. I have read tons of mixed information and feel completely confused about the whole situation. Local government websites seem to do nothing but scaremonger! According to certain websites I can apparently catch HIV from this very brief experience which sounds bazaar!

Two more quick questions:

Are you sure I have no risk after she sucked on it for 20 seconds?

Would the tetracycline have stopped any infection transfer? (if she had one)
