Hi, Some days ago in a foreign country I had unprotected vaginal sex due to a broken condome. The woman I had sex with and I went to a medical clinic the next day and they have done blood test for both STD and HIV on both of us. All outcomes were negative. Later I wondered wether is is possible to detect a gonorrea infection with a blood test, so I mailed the gynaecologist that had helped us. He answered not to worry; they had tested for all the common STD's.
I am left with some questions though that I would like to ask you.
- Is it true that a bloodtest is an adequat testing method for gonorrea?
- How big is the change for a man to be contaminated with gonnorea from one sexual (vaginal) encounter?
Could you please answer these questions for me? Thanks so much.
