Oral to genital herpes infection?

hi,

I have has cold sores since I was really young, but now the outbreaks now are very rare.

recently, i performed oral sex on my boyfriend, and within a few hours i had a very mild cold sore (there was no tingling, the sore was just a raised red bump with no blister and really small). The day after, the sore had virtually disappeared.

I'm really worried now he will have contracted HSV1 genitally, because of asymptomatic shedding - he has never had coldsores as I understand. What are the chances of this, and when will the symptoms present themselves if he has contracted it? I feel terrible.
