Std concern after oral sex

I had an encounter with a trans escort where i received protected oral sex, i started experiencing groin pain on both legs for a few weeks. I did the naat test for ghonorrhea and chlamydia 5 days post exposure and both came back negative so a few weeks later the pain went away since i took doxy for 14 days and 2 g of azithomicin as prescribed by a doctor. Now after resuming sex with my wife i have the groin pain again and i m wondering if i got something that now has been passed to my wife and i just keep reinfecting myself by having sex with her post the antibiotics treatment. What are the chances i might have syphilis if i dont have any sores??? My wife is just currently exoeriencing burning and itching sensation in her vagina ( we re both herpes positive) is it safe to assume that we dont have ghono or chlamydia since my test was negative and syphilis is not that common? Does syphilis causes burning and itching sensation in women? In my case i dont have any symptoms other than the groin sensitivity to the touch.

I would appreciate any information that can be provided to assist me with this since this is causing me some anxiety at this point.

Hi there,

The test at 5 days is a bit early BUT{ (its a big but), you were never at any risk of gono or chlamydia because you used a condom - that creates an impassable barrier. I am really shocked the Dr gave you that medication with no indications for it. That is actually really bad practice as it contributes to the antibiotic resistance. But I digress.

You had a slight risk to syphilis and herpes. You already have herpes so scratch that. As you quite rightly said, syphilis is uncommon in developed countries and a symptom of that is NOT itching. It starts with a round painless sore called a chancre where the infection took hold. So you say you it from the oral exposure but you were wearing the condoms (which absolutely lowers the risk even more) it would be at the base of your penis.

In your case, I dont know what the issue is. Maybe anxiety to work with (maybe a different) doctor but im pretty confident is saying that this is NOT an STI :)

Thank you for your response, i really appreciate it. I m planning to do 10 panel full std test tomorrow to make sure everything is fine...
You could for peace of mind, but you really dont need to :)
If it hasn't been 3 weeks since you took the antibiotics, the 10 panel STD test would be an (additional) waste of time. You could get false negatives.

Also, has your wife been to a doctor? Perhaps she has a yeast infection that is just unrelated to this?
Hi auntijessi thank you for responding and to answer your question i finish the antibiotics treatment back on June 10 and resume sex with wife a few days after so i should be now at 4 or 5 weeks mark now to test. Based on what i described on my original post do you think i should be worried about an std due to this event and based on the fact that groin area is is still hurting on both legs?
Nope. If I thought so, I'd have said so. You can trust SillyMistake's responses.

The only reason I added what I did is so when you read about it later, you wouldn't then create more anxiety for yourself.

Thank you very much auntijessi and sillymistake i really appreciate the feedback provided.
You're welcome. :)
