I'm a male and I met someone online one and a half year ago that gave me oral sex. It was my first sexual encounter. After the encounter I was really worried, my testicles became a bit enlarged, and my urethra felt sore inside, and I also felt an itchiness that went from inside my penis and travelled inside as the days went on. I remember a bit of blood in the ejaculate after masturbating. But that was only a couple times. I had all the urine tests checked within a few weeks of the encounter, particularly Gonorrhoea, and doctor injected me with the antibiotic even before the test result came back negative because they were so sure I had it due to my symptoms.
Then weeks later I was worried about Syphillis and HIV which I had tested about three months after initial encounter, which came back negative for both. I also noticed I was getting itchy around my anus, and also scalp. I developed yeast infection under my foreskin, and doctor gave me some anti yeast cream. This lasted for 6-7 months post encounter, and I was still worried about HIV/Syphillis then got tested again (approx 6 months after encounter) since doctor wanted to be sure nothing was going on with my immune system for me to have this persistent yeast infection.
Anyway everything came back negative, including for all other STD.
Fast forward to today. I have also not been with any new partners, and not had any encounters. I am still suffering from a burning irritation in my urethra, inside at the same area where it started. I developed gradually over the last 4 months nervous system issues (numbness in hands, arms, muscle tiredness feeling in arms, as well as face, scalp)
I am convinced all my problems are because of this single encounter I had.
I was tested for CMV, EBV recently and other things like Lyme....all came back negative except for EBV which was shown to be active in my system.
Since I was not with anyone prior to my first encounter one and half years ago, I am suspicious I contracted the EBV from that person, also perhaps a strain that might be infecting my nervous system and my body is unable to suppress. I researched this and EBV mimics symptoms of MS so I suspect it is causing my neurological symptoms.
Do you think this is possibility? Can EBV be spread to someone through mouth to penis contact?
Furthermore I am still worried I picked up something else which is persisting in my genital region, but my doctor are so dismissive of my symptoms just because the 'standard' tests came back negative.
I don't know what to do. Should I still keep checking for STD? HIV? Syphilis? Or are those result conclusive?
Is there anything else I should ask to be tested for that would cause my symptoms (persistent achy burning in part of my urethra + mild achy groin area + neurological symptoms)?
I regret the encounter I had and wish I never had it. All the information online that say receiving oral sex is low risk are all a lie. They only mention the most common STD but no where do they mention about EBV or other possible infections passed through saliva, and the consequences of that.
