Chlamydia scared??

I think I’m scared because I had Chlamydia 5 years ago. So I had sex with a friend that after the act got inconclusive chlamydia result(in blood tests). Same day I went to doctor and he prescribed azitromizin and ceftriaxone. Two weeks after the sex act I went in and tested for Chlamydia igg and igm and was negative. Now, I am experiencing painful sex and a mild discomfort in the pelvic area. I am scared... what should I do?

The blood test isn't as reliable as doing a swab of your vagina or a urine sample to test for chlamydia, so it's hard to say if your friend had it, or if you did.

You took the correct treatment, so there's not any reason to suspect you've had it all this time.

However, since you are having symptoms, you should see your doctor. You could have it again from a different partner, or have something like a UTI, an ovarian cyst, or quite a few other things. Ask to be tested for chlamydia (and other STDs) to be sure you don't still have it, or haven't gotten it again.

Let us know what happens.

Thank you for answering. I have to add that I have an IUD and I think that may be the cause also but I am not sure and the symptoms subsided after that. That happened two days in a row and now is not happening. My current partner is not experiencing any symptoms.
Yes, IUDs can cause similar symptoms. If you experience it again, let your doctor check you out, even if it goes away.

I'm glad you're feeling better. :)
