Do I have syphilis?

Hi, I think I have primary syphilis. I have an ulcer on my penis.

I had small lesions on my glans (penis) which I thought was balanitis - I have been treating this with increased washing/drying and occassional application of hydrocortisone cream. Sometimes this worked and the glans would return to normal within a couple of days, but then the lesions would return. I'm still battling with this.

However, I also have a large single ulcer on my penis which looks like it could be syphilis. I have attached photos to show you this ulcer, and also the glans condition. I noticed the lesion about two weeks ago, but I don't know how long it could have been there for.

I'm 33, and I take tramadol and gabapentin for nerve pain in my feet. This medication has affected my sex drive, and me and my girlfriend have not had sex for about 9 months, so I don't know where I could have picked up an STD.

I'd be grateful for any help, thanks a lot.

did you and your partner have full std testing that included syphilis testing as well as herpes testing prior to starting to have sex together? if not, time to cover those bases and get it done ( as well as all other std's ).

certainly be seen.  no more self treatment and certainly no more topical steroids too!!

Stop the hydrocortisone cream as it thins skin and can cause permanent problems.  See a urologist.  I do not think this is any sort of STD.
