Prostatitis or Prodrome only HSV?

So for the past 8 or so months I've had this recurrent but extremely brief tingling that either occurs behind my testicles or at the tip of my penis. Sometimes it will happen once for literally no more than 15 seconds and then no more, other times it will happen several times a day (still for only a matter of a few seconds) and continue for 3 or so days and then totally stop. Time between occurrences is anywhere from 1 week to 2 months. It's not really painful-just a tingling. No itching or anything else. I've been tested for everything other than HSV and I was initially scared it might be that (still a little scared) but every time I've gotten that tingling sensation I've immediately checked myself for anything that could be even remotely considered a bump or lesion and found nothing. Also the close proximity of the occurrences (sometimes only days/weeks between them) makes me think it would not be HSV. The only other thing I can think of would be Prostatitis. I sit a lot for my job (60 hours or more a week) and I've read that can sometimes cause Prostatitis. So I guess my main question is would it even be conceivable to have some sort of frequent outbreak, prodrome only HSV case with no other symptoms? I haven't really had a "high risk" sex life but I guess there's always the possibility.

this is not a std related symptom.

see your provider for further evaluation.

It's happening again. It started with a tingling/muscle soreness in my lower abdomen a few inches above my genitals. Same as before-I'd feel it for a minute or two and then it would go away for 3-4 hours. This last for two days and then moved to my upper thigh, same sensation. It's now the 5th day and I got a dull/numb tingling on my shaft for a minute or two while I was sitting down. I stood up and it left in a minute or two. It does kind of seem to be muscle soreness or loss of circulation but I'm still a little worried. I've looked high and low for anything that could be considered a sore/blister etc. Nothing.
Pretty sure this is nothing to worry about as you said but my last question is what do extremely mild HSV2 outbreaks look/feel like? Are there always still open sores? I've read that a lot of people don't pay any attention to their symptoms which is why I'm kind of freaking out.

you would have pain for several days if it was due to herpes.

I got tested for everything but herpes so far and my only partner in the last year tested negative for herpes and everything else. I'll admit that I'm a bit of a germ-aphobe but I have read that a VAST majority of people have HSV and don't exhibit any classic symptoms. Also read about "aborted outbreaks" where people just get prodrome symptoms, one of which was tingling so I automatically assumed the worst before reading up on prostatitis. As I said before the tingling isn't painful but it's definitely noticeable. I really appreciate the reply-it eases my mind a bit. So if this was a prodrome only aborted outbreak it would be noticeably uncomfortable and would last for probably 30 minutes straight at the shortest??

herpes pain is constant when you have recurrences - not anything like you are describing.    that said, if you've never had herpes testing before, you certainly should seek it out to know your status. you and your partners can't make educated decisions about what precautions to take until you know who has what.

have you been seen yet and followed up properly on your symptoms?  They really don't sound like anything that needs dealt with at all to be honest. Just seems like you are taking far too much notice to your genital area. everyone gets aches and pains down yonder - a job you sit a lot at is notorious for causing things like this too.
