Can I get STD from Brazilian Waxing?

Hi, I know this question has been asked so many times, but i guess to each of us is a different situation as it happens.

I have checked out the Internet very briefly to see if Brazilian Waxing is safe. Unfortunately, the few that i came across says its safe. So i went ahead with it.

The place looks professional. Each client is given their own pack that consist of dip sticks, and wet wipes. The scissors and tweezers was seen dipped into a sort of blue liquid (about half an inch high only) They put towels on the treatment bed, which I assume they change it all the time. And the person who does the waxing wears a pair of gloves and mask as well.

I was told to clean myself with the wet wipes. After that, a layer of antiseptic is applied on my body part and longer hairs were cut to around 1 inch. And the wax (chocolate) was applied. The wax is not changed for each client since they claim that they do not double dip. I could see her taking the dip sticks from my pack. However, not sure if she double dips or not cos I look up all the time. Once she was done, she used the tweezers to pluck out some shorter hair but told me she can't do it for those that is too short. That blue liquid was not changed though. Antiseptic was applied again after everything was done. This was done yesterday noon.

I have some ingrown hair prior to that and a pimple. After the session, i check myself. There was no cuts, but one of the folical area at my scrotum seems to be a bit reddish and maybe it bleed a bit when the hair was removed.

I am married and are trying to conceive a baby with my wife. After this waxing session, I'm just afraid if I have contracted any STDs which may put both my wife and if we get a baby, in danger.

Your kind advise/opinion are very much appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks again Vance.

Hmmm... I have some itches around my groin area. I wonder if its just due to the waxing? I got the brazilian waxing 4-5 days ago.

Because those are bad sources...you need direct skin on skin contact to transmit Herpes and HPV.
A lot of info in the internet is either junk or they are very very conservative in the estimation. If 1 person says I got herpes from (blank) method some sites list it as a possibility, and those sites do not know if the person is being truthful or not (and most of the time when dealing with the 1 person or few people reporting a case no matter what STD it is they are lying). Science proves that those above are direct skin to skin contact and not through enviromantal surfaces.

why some sources do say that Herpes and HPV can be transmitted by waxing?
I don't mean to question your answers, but just asking out of discussion. And me, like others here just want to know what we got(or not) or are going to get into.

Vance, thank you for your patience :)

Yes those are the STD's and I will include HIV in that list also.

Now it is true to ask those in another community as well as HIV. But since you had no risk I am not going to direct you over to those forum because it would be a waste of time for you and for anyone else answering in those forum.

I don't know a lot about herpes and hpv but know enough that they are not transfered that way. And I also answer questions in HIV so I know enough about that.

Here is how STD's are transfered...unprotected sex and a few from protected sex. STD's are not passed from enviormental objects. But with full disclosure Molluscum and Trich can be passed through dirty towles, but that is not common.

Ok, I'm a paranoid. That I have to admit.

So, under STDs, it should include the followings right?

such as: Chlamydia, Crabs (pubic lice scabies), Gonorrhea, Hepatitis (viral), Herpes, HPV, Molluscum Contagiosum, PID, Rectal Infections, Syphilis, Trichomonas, Warts, Yeast Infection

Cos i saw that HPV and Herpes should be asked else where from here..

Thanks Vince.

Sorry, you can not get anything from a waxing. STD's are not transfered that way.

do you mean "Can" or "Can't"?

If you're saying that "No, I can get anything from waxing"... then what are the symptoms that I should be watching out for?
